My understanding is Auto-tune is used to sync voice to music, so less skilled rappers can spit out their rhymes at any speed and auto-tune does the syncing to the beat auto-tunically. so to speak. I was told one of Jay-Z biggest rivals in the game today is a heavy user of it(Lil Wayne).  Rap to me is hit or miss, don’t get into too many of the club type stuff or the southern screwed but there are always gems.   So..  Jay - Z ..  start it off
